As we cruise towards the close of 2022, it's difficult for me to think of a more disruptive year as a developer perhaps since 2010 (when "Thoughts on Flash" helped precipitate a rapid demise of tools like Flash, Flex, Silverlight and others).
The pace at which new tools, frameworks and services, or major changes to existing ones, were thrown at us this year rivals almost any year in my 25 year career (even one of our popular means of communication underwent rapid change with the rapid death spiral Twitter seems to be in). Here's hoping 2023 will present us with some time to catch up!
